Designed by British inventors, this washing machine just uses a single cup of water to do the laundry. Dubbed Xeros, this nearly waterless washer uses thousands of special plastic chips (about 44 pounds’ worth) in each wash which absorb the dirt, thereby ensuring clean and green results. Claiming to use less than 2 percent of the water and energy of a conventional machine, the smart eco-friendly washer will debute in 2009.
