Care to conserve electricity, limit your energy usage and save the planet? Then this radical new innovation by Lyon and Shanghai-based design studio EDDS Design will certainly interest you. A participant at the EDF foundation’s “So Watt” program, “U Now Watt ” allows you to instantly measure the electricity sucked up by your appliances. A graduating display lets you check electric usage in a room via blue, orange and red indicators that display the current state of consumption in particular vicinity. Of course the device is no miracle worker and you’ll still have to manually switch off appliances that are not use but it’s always great to know they have finally invented a gizmo that has your back on this issue!
