'Breath': Tree-shaped air conditioner
Rajni | Jun 4 2009

Breath, an air conditioner by Ryuichi Tabu, is one unique kind of air conditioner that uses ground heat and the Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage (ATES) system for its functioning. Designed in the shape of a tree, this peerless air conditioner circulates air within a wider range with a double structure that controls airflow in its branches.

Installed underground is the heat exchanger where the air taken in from outside reaches and condensates due to the temperature difference. Simultaneously, dust and other matters are removed by the filter inside the unit. Some of the moisture is reused in the aquifer tank and the remaining moisture is discharged into the ground. Installing this air-conditioning tree in your homes ensures a productive relationship with air and the earth.
