The SETI Collection by Scott Wilson & Michiel Knoppert
Ritu | Sep 22 2007

Scott Wilson and Michiel Knoppert have created the SETI collection, made from expanded polystyrene. Presently, it is on display at 100 percent Futures show at 100 percent Design in London. The collection features an indoor/outdoor lounge, side table/cooler and pendant lamp.

The pendant lamp is simply outstanding, and flaunts the recycle symbol, speaking for the reusable character of the lamp. The elegantly shaped EPS shells let the light from the energy saving lamps to cast a soft and warm glow.

The SETI chair and ottoman take monolithic forms, displaying hard shells, and are inspired by cycling helmets. The ottoman performs a double function of a side table, and has a removable top that reveals a compartment, which also can be used as a cooler.
