Temperature sensitive coasters
Rajni | May 30 2009

Some people love to take their beverages when too hot and some just can’t stand beverages being too hot. But at times your tongue becomes the victim of a third degree burn all because naively you take a very hot sip, right? However, you can avoid that if you have some colored LEDs and a temperature sensor, because that’s all you need to build a handy temperature sensitive coaster. A red light signifies the drink being very hot, green if it’s just right and white when your tea/coffee goes too cold. Also, there is a tilt switch that re-calibrates the “just right” setting every time you make a drink. It’s a DIY project. You can get the step by step instructions at Instructables. Innovatively nifty kitchen ware!
