Strata flower pot:Grow half tree indoors to plant it outdoors later
Rajni | Nov 25 2009

The ingenious designer and founder of Dessence, an architecture and design firm, Kazuyo Shimada after the long three years of traveling settled down and started to design the inventive Strata flower pot. It’s a flower pot made of sand and biomass that lets you use it indoors first then outdoors. Planting and raising the sapling indoors to let it reach a certain size. Thereafter, sapling and the pot are together taken outside to be further buried in the ground. In nutshell, it’s the indoor-born tree that is a metaphor for offspring growing up at home, and later on leaving the house to go to the outside world.
