Washing machines need yet to be simplified in terms of hassles like adding detergent or water etc. The new GE machines claim it to be as easy as sending the clothes to the laundry. It is termed as SmartDispense and is quite smart front loading washer that has a special drawer at the bottom that stores the detergent and fabric softener and is used depending upon the size of the load, level of the soil, fabric type, hardness of water or cycle type. And added to this smartness is that the washer and the drier it seems communicates with each other regarding the quality of the fabric.
It appears that there is a brain inside the washing machine and that works according to the situation. It decides how much of the detergent is needed for the present load. The fabric quality is completely taken care of and it can wash 17 pairs of jeans easily in one load. The price of the washer starts from $1,299 and the dryer, $1,099 and will be available from summer 2008.
