CES debut: JVC to show off lightest and thinnest LCD HDTV
Rajni | Jan 6 2009

CES is always a blessing for the consumers and as far as home electronics is concerned, this year seems to be promising. Yesterday, we told you all that Samsung has come up with 6.5 mm LED TV claiming to be the thinnest in the world. Here’s another one for you. JVC is planning to show off a new prototype of a 32-inch LCD HDTV at CES this week.

What’s different?

What makes JVC’s LCD HDTV unique? Well, its 32-inch super thin TV uses LED as its backlight, a mere 7mm thick and weighs in at a mere 11 pounds. With more and more companies popping up with their smart TVs each day, the day is not far when we will have paper thin television sets that could be hung on our walls and be mistaken for a painting.

It’s a mere prototype and isn’t likely to hit the market shelves anytime soon. That’s all for now! Stay tuned for more smart stuff for your home from the CES.
