Malin Källman, a Swedish designer, got inspired by Darwinism and evolutionary theory so much so that she has popped up with a design methodology called “Design by Darwinism.” The unique bookcase pictured above is a “Darwin bookcase” designed with the eccentricity and escapism as the starting points. The platform at the top gives the user a new perspective of their domestic environment, slightly detached from life. The cozy, warm and safe seat underneath provides seclusion.
