Philippe Starck has once again proved his mettle. We have already witnessed an array of his designs and now he created a set of wireless speakers dubbed Zimku. Steal a quick look at the image above. Curvy speakers with dense black façade…simply bravura! Correct me if I’m wrong.
What’s different? A set of sensuous speakers that tout a docking station for an iPod or iPhone, surround sound technology and a range of wireless capabilities. 360-degrees immersive sound experience, ability to stream music from mobile devices via Bluetooth A2DP or Wi-Fi, smart remote control from anywhere in the house. The list seems to be endless. These smart techie features make Zimku stand apart from the crowd.
Read what Philippe Starck has to say about his new creation:
We were not aiming to create just another speaker. Our design focused more on making the air vibrate. There is actually a three-dimensional feel to this vibration, meaning that the air is palpable, almost human-like in presence, like a fragrance.
Price and availability: Zikmu wireless speakers by Philippe Starck will start shipping from spring 2009 for just $1,500.
Good!
