The sound carpet by Lim Hyuntaik we featured here a few days back was pretty marvelous, wasn’t it? Seems like the designers are on their way to break the chain of boxes-connected-by-wires paradigm of conventional speakers. The Manta Speakers by US designer Chris Luomanen is a soft fabric mat with upturned corner anchors appearing as if the music you swept under the rug is pleading for permission to come out. Placed under your computer monitor, on a credenza in your dining room or the dresser in your bedroom, the Manta speakers (measuring 2″ high, 5″ deep and 25″ wide) promise to leave your guests awe-struck.
