Innovation meets Eco-friendliness in the Oceania Fridge

Eco Friendly products are now becoming too commonplace for us to get all excited about but we do appreciate practical, planet friendly devices. One such consumer durable is the Oceania fridge designed by Tez Patel. This fridge combines functionality with a very chic design that will bring a dash of style to your kitchen. The planet friendly bit is predictably the absence of CFC/HCFC which eat away the ozone layer and the usage of bio degradeable eco friendly materials in the fridge’s construction. The absence of CFC though, cannot be called revolutionary as it is now bog standard for all fridges to do away with these harmful coolants. The fridge in itself consists of drawers which can be pulled out for easy access. Functionality gets further bolstered by the transparent front end which makes it easy to view what is inside than opening the fridge to do so.

Here comes the high technology bit. RFID tags can be used on the fridge’s contents which will tell you when the foods expire making food getting spoilt in the fridge, a thing of the past. An alarm to warn you if hot foods are mistakenly kept in the fridge is a very nice touch. The entire package comes with a digital interface which makes using this fridge a cakewalk. Though not revolutionary, the Oceania is a smart, innovative concept.
