Home Energy Monitor: OLED touchscreen light helps you assess energy usage
Jaiyant Cavale | Sep 22 2008

Features: Rocco Avallone has come up with a product called the OLED touchscreen light. This will help the user to gauge and monitor the amount of energy he/she consumes. The display would show the data in the form of animations and graphics. It shows the cost, home usage and community usage data. The color-coding includes green, which suggests better than acceptable usage, orange suggests acceptable usage, red suggests over usage of energy. The bold house refers to your house and the 40 faded houses are a sampling of houses in the user’s community area.

What’s Different: The fact that this gadget shows the community usage makes it unique. It is also unique because it is a simple gadget with a very simple and user-friendly interface.

Price and Availability: The product is a concept and it is not available yet and also, the pricing is not known.

Better Options:

Wattson Monitor

It lets people compare each other’s energy usage and lets people cut 20% of the electricity bill.

EnergyHub Home Energy Consumption Monitor

The data is instantly collected and you can see it all immediately. It can be set in the home office, kitchen or can be connected to a power outlet.
