Eco friendly kitchen concept from Whirlpool
Arpita Mukherjee | Mar 15 2008

Whirlpool, a major player in the home appliance sector has brought a new environment friendly kitchen concept that depends on green energy and recycled fuel. The 60% of water and heat generated in the “green kitchen†is diverted to fuel other appliances or functions. The green kitchen concept inspired by the cycle of nature uses recycled energy, for instance the heat derived from the compressor of the refrigerator passes on to heat the water of the dishwasher. To economize energy usage, the refrigerator in the modular kitchen would be equipped with a drawer instead of the usual cabinet to prevent excess loss of cold air from the fridge every time its door is opened. The green kitchen would help users to reduce at least 24% of the total energy bill by reducing energy use and recycling water and energy needs. While as a concept, the green kitchen looks simply fantastic but its functionality could only be tested once it becomes freely available for customized use.
