DURAT, the winners of the ICFF International Contemporary Furniture Fair Editors Award 2006 present the Torni Wash Basin that seems to be a superhit with those who have a penchant for offbeat furniture in their homes, including their bathrooms. Designer Mick Brundle worked in association with Arup Associates to present the world with this novel washbasin christened Torni. The round basin with its cylindrical base is a fresh design that has a good purpose behind it. Your bathroom will look bigger once you place the Torni in it. Moreover, the round shape allows more people to pass by each other without jostling in confined places.
Coming to the material, you cannot ask for anything better than DURAT, which is solid polyester based substance made up of recycled material. It gives a gorgeous silky finish to the furniture and gives it an impression of depth. It is durable and resistant to humidity and chemical exposure. Moreover, you can bend DURAT to any shape you desire. The plastic material renders the basin unbreakable which is another advantage over the conventional porcelain basins.
The shape of the Torni definitely places it at a higher rank than the vanity basin. The shades of the basin are most contemporary and the concealment of the outlet pipes in the cylindrical body gives this basin a neat appearance. The degree of concavity of the Torni basin being more than that of the conventional ones you can be assured that no water will spatter out when you open the tap to its full capacity assuring you less messiness and more hygiene. The self–standing cylinder gives the basin on top cent per cent stability. In the case of vanity basin designs, you need to give support to the basin externally and you cannot be always assured of hundred per cent stability and with eco-friendliness on the cards, can you ask for anything better?
The Torni manifests itself in the mini and the standard sizes and includes the waste and overflow components.
