Automist retrofittable faucet wins UK James Dyson Award
Rajni | Sep 10 2009

Y’all surely know about the UK James Dyson Award competition. Well, the latest news is that the Automist by RCA students Yusuf Muhammed and Paul Thomas has been announced the winner. A retrofittable kitchen sink faucet disperses a thorough mist and douses the flames. In the event of fire, the wireless heat detector triggers an under-sink pump which then drives the main water through the unique nozzle unit, thereby filling the kitchen volume with fog, creating an inert atmosphere of 30% water and finally suppressing the blaze. Besides the smart functionality, the novelty of this sink faucet lies in its modular design.
