A very neat fireplace mod job

BEFORE

Here is a project that isn’t too cutting edge but manages to be so simple and practical that we cannot but help to be really impressed. A fireplace that jutted out almost two feet into the living room was modded suitably to become a shelf and a multimedia platform. For this, oak shelves were shoehorned onto the Fireplace’s sides and top. The TV now sits atop the fireplace on a raised base and the other video peripherals sit next to the TV. The shelves above can be used to keep books or other knick knacks. the entire project was conceptualized with 3D CAD and is possible due to the fact that the walls above and behind the fireplace were hollow. So, the next time you happen to stumble across a house that has a fireplace like the one in this post, you know what to suggest to it’s owner.

What a transformation! Many times we don’t know how to make use of our old time resources and fret that they have no utility and they simply occupy space. This idea shows that nothing can be really obselete. Its just a matter of our perception.
