Home decor : scroll and set the top according to your mood

Features: Bored by staring at the same old table surface day in and day out? “Scroll Table”, by the Italian House Nobody & Co., is a way out of this monotony. The Scroll Table, true to its name, has a crystal surface under which different motifs scroll. Actually, the table is provided with a crank and the user can scroll seven different motifs to choose one that seems right for the day. Once he homes in on a particular motif, others just disappear, sliding neatly into the rollers at either end of the table. The motifs are actually designed as a tribute to men – and their machines – that have contributed to the success of the Italian design. Designed by Timorous Beasties, these motifs come printed digitally on white cotton or “handprinted” on gray linen. And the handle that scrolls the motif can be just slipped off and stored under the table.

As for the technical specifications, Scroll Table measures 210 x 90 cm, h. 75 and has a crystal top of 15mm thickness. The metallic body is laser cut and powder painted.

What’s working: Scroll Table guarantees a neat diversion. It will enable an individual to choose a different surface every time. Also it’d be a great treat for the followers of the Italian design.

Price and availability: Timorous Beasties recently organized a great party at London to celebrate the launch of the Scroll Table. I’m not sure if it is available commercially as yet, but one could always check out at one of their stores.
