I want one... nice roundup ;-)

What Startrek-episode did these come from ?

I wonder how many people could have clean water for the price of 1 shower unit.
20.000, more ?

People buying this kind of stuff, just for comfort, should have to walk 5 miles each day to a well with water of doubt full quality.

get a life

I agree with Bart and Giacomo. I guess some people must spend hours in the shower. Why else would you need an MP3 player or a TV installed in one? What a waste of money and water.

Do you hear what you’re saying?
You are fortunate to own a computer to write this politically correct crap on. Maybe you should donate your wealth to someone that doesn’t work for a living.

Sorry, but these arguments are just disingenuous. And if you’re still worried about what to drink a thousand years from now, remember that the earth is two thirds water!

Don’t let envy masked as conservation cloud your minds.

I agree that the earth is two thirds water! Yes. But how much is drinkable and where this is available? I’m Project Manager specialized on sustainability, and I work on water efficiency and green power worldwide...

dur my name is JW dur.
I have shower envy and project it on other people and then I imply that anyone who needs living assistance doesn’t work for a living dur....I’m too funking stupid and self-absorbed to realize that not everyone was born with the opportunities I have. I have little to no understanding of anyone or anything outside of the few miles surrounding where I live. I have even less understanding of what constitutes a rational argument.

Anyway, JW, here is your argument simplified:
The above commenters own a computer, therefore their arguments are ”disingenuous” and they are envious despite no evidence to prove it.

Maybe you should learn what working for a living really means. You probably sell insurance or work for a bank or some other useless trade. Try growing your own food without government subsidizing you. That’s a living. Don’t let self-righteousness and a moderate vocabulary cloud your mind into believing you or your opinion are worth two cents.

JW’s lover, you aren’t helping us win the argument with your immature rantings. If I had the money, JW, I would defiantly donate it. In fact, even though my family is almost under middle class, I still do everything I can to raise money. Every year I go to the Crohns and Colitis Heel-and-wheel-a-thon, raising money for one of the many diseases I’ve acquired over the years. Giacomo is also correct, we have a lot of water, but not a lot of it is clean. Why would I be envious of a shower? I don’t know about you, I shower to get clean, not to relax or watch a movie. You only need five minutes in a shower to get clean, and that’s all I do. Personally, I hate showering, it’s boring.

water tends to recycle anyway. ya know it flows to the ocean, comes back as rain. unless we goof that up. the money spent does put people to work, to spend more money. sideslip economics. so the rich have something to build their fragile egos on. they still have to clean their dirty aes or we wouldn’t put up with them.

Well, I really don’t think you should even try to voice your opinion, Rosey. Someone as illiterate as you are really has no right to try and sound intelligent.
Yes, water does recycle itself, but you aren’t reading these comment right, obviously. After it is recycled, it is then ’dirty’ water again, and un-safe to drink. You shower to get clean, the dirt and bacteria goes in the water. Unless you want to go drink from the sewers, these showers aren’t helping anything. Also, to add on to the wasted water most of them promote, they take a lot of electricity to power. At the moment, I don’t think we’ve found a way to generate electricity for free. So if we didn’t have these, we could give 20 000 more people fresh water, as well as 20 000 apartments electricity. The ones who own equipment like this are obviously the ones who don’t care about anyone but themselves.

They are all very robotic modern looking - I wouldn’t mind that wooden square one in my house but the others are ugly!

I agree with Fixies– while some of the features available in these look appealing, the ultra modern look is rather off-putting to me. Even so, it’s a neat collection!

Wow and I thought my multi-setting shower head was something!

Definitely some interesting alternatives to your ordinary shower albeit pricey ones.

Some interesting comments already on the sustainability of such showers regarding water and energy consumption. While I agree that this is a luxury item that is not designed with the intention of being practical or sustainable I would find it surprising if the engineers of these did not consider water consumption and how to make the best use of it.

Could it be that some of these showers consume less water that average showers? Or is my thinking completely off the mark?

Just the same I have to agree that there are better things to spend money on that would be of greater benefit to humanity.

From an engineering and creative point of view I admire the work and thinking that went into creating them even though I don’t consider them practical or worth spending the money on.

very nice shower units. one day maybe i can buy one :)

Unless these are super energy savers you are going to run out of hot water so fast that you won’t have time to relax and enjoy your super expensive hydro-massage shower. While the concept is neat, I find these utterly unnecessary. We shouldn’t be so wrapped up in our Western culture that we lost touch with the rest of the world.

Very nice, but in the end its just running water that you need for 10 minutes to clean yourself with.
